Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I properly set up my Phottix Nuada S transmitter and receiver for wireless flash photography with studio lighting?

Make sure you have both the Phottix Nuada S transmitter and receiver units. Power on both the transmitter and receiver units by pressing and holding the power button until the LEDs light up. Set the transmitter into master mode by pressing and holding the SET button for 3 seconds. The LED on the top right will blink twice to confirm it's in master mode. Attach the receiver to your studio lighting unit or flash head (depending on your preference). Put the receiver into slave mode by pressing the SET button once. The LED will blink once to confirm it's in slave mode. Adjust the channel on both units using the CHANNEL button. You can select any of the 16 available channels, but for simplicity's sake, we recommend using the same channel on both devices. Next, set the power level on both units using the POWER button. Again, it's best to use the same power level on both devices to ensure consistency in your lighting. Test that everything is working correctly by triggering your studio lighting or flash head with the master transmitter unit. The LED on the receiver should light up as well, indicating a successful transmission. If you encounter any issues during the setup process or have further questions, consult the Phottix Nuada S user manual for more detailed instructions and troubleshooting tips.

How do I properly mount and connect the Phottix Nuada S flash head to my camera's hot shoe for use in studio lighting setups?

First, make sure your Phottix Nuada S flash head is fully charged or has fresh batteries installed. Locate the hot shoe mount on top of your camera. This is where you will attach the Phottix Nuada S flash head. Line up the contacts on the bottom of the Phottix Nuada S flash head with the contacts in the hot shoe mount on your camera. Make sure they are properly aligned and snapped into place securely. Press the release button located on the side of the Phottix Nuada S flash head to unlock it from the hot shoe mount. This will allow you to adjust the angle and orientation of the flash head as needed. Adjust the angle and orientation of the Phottix Nuada S flash head as desired for your studio lighting setup. You can tilt the head up or down, side to side, or rotate it to direct the light exactly where you need it. Once you have adjusted the angle and orientation to your liking, release the release button to lock the Phottix Nuada S flash head in place. Connect the included sync cable from the Phottix Nuada S flash head to the corresponding input on your studio lighting setup (such as a Phottix Odin II transmitter). This will allow you to trigger and control multiple flash heads simultaneously. Finally, ensure that your camera is set to use external flash (usually found in the camera's menu system) and select the appropriate channel and group for the Phottix Nuada S flash head to communicate with your studio lighting setup.
