I purchased this quick coupler as a replacement for my travel tripod as the original plate was lost. This plate fits the tripod very well and is of even better quality than the original. This quick coupler is made of aluminum, the screw makes a solid impression. Originally the removable plate was only made of plastic for my tripod (it was not an expensive VANGUARD tripod, around 50 euros).
As a Cullmann fan, I have several older tripods from this company. All stands have the same quick release system (square coupling plate with an edge length of approx. 41 mm). This enables quick switching (hence the quick-release coupling) between tripods (e.g. 3090 Travelpod and Titan CT200) and devices (camera and camera).
Cullmann has now introduced quick-connect tripods of various sizes to the market. I also needed a tripod quick coupler which only comes with a 1/4 “screw. Cullmann offers a Revomax RX448 quick coupler that can be attached with a 1/4” or 3/8 “screw The advantage of the new system is that the coupling plate fits over the old ones coupling systems (see above) On the other hand, the old coupling plates do not fit the new system because they are too low.
