1 review for Hama Star 62

  1. Blake Bean

I recently bought the Hama Star 62 tripod in February and I have to say that it’s been a real disappointment. First of all, the leg sections are a bit of a nightmare to adjust, making it a real headache to set up and get the angle that you want. And forget about stabilizing it on uneven surfaces.

Plus, it’s just way too heavy to carry around with me to different locations. The 1.5 kg weight is definitely a downside for me.

Comparing it to other tripods that I’ve owned before, I have to say that this one doesn’t really hold up. It’s not nearly as versatile or easy to use as some of the other well-known tripod models out there.

As for the delivery of the tripod to Fort Worth, I have to say that it was a bit of a pain. It took longer than expected to arrive and when it finally did come, the packaging was a bit beat up and torn. Not a great first impression, to say the least.

Overall, I would say that the Hama Star 62 tripod is not worth the investment. If you’re looking for a good, reliable tripod for your photography needs, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

"How do I properly assemble and disassemble the Hama Star 62 tripod for photography purposes?"

To assemble the Hama Star 62 tripod for photography purposes, follow these steps:

1. Unpack all the parts from the carrying bag and ensure that you have everything required to set up the tripod. This includes the tripod legs, center column, ball head, and quick release plate. Lay out the three leg sections in front of you with the smallest section on top. The smaller section should be inserted into the larger one by sliding it into place until it snaps securely. Repeat this process for all three leg sections. Insert the center column into the top of the tripod legs. Make sure that it is tightly secured, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage or wear on the threads. Tighten the center column clamp to securely lock the center column in place. This will prevent it from accidentally collapsing during use. Attach the ball head to the top of the center column using the mounting plate. Tighten the screws securely to ensure that the head is firmly attached. Adjust the tension on the ball head by tightening or loosening the knobs as needed to achieve the desired level of resistance when moving the camera. This will help to prevent unwanted movement during long exposures. Attach the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera using the screws provided. Make sure that it is securely fastened and aligned correctly. Finally, attach the camera to the quick release plate by sliding it into place on the ball head. Tighten the knobs to ensure that the camera is firmly attached and won't fall off during use. When disassembling the tripod, simply reverse these steps in the opposite order, starting with removing the camera from the quick release plate and ending with separating the leg sections. Remember to store all parts carefully in the carrying bag to prevent damage or misplacement.
