4 reviews for Nextbase 512GW

  1. Heron Kalyn

Unfortunately, I bought the camera blind and I must admit that I expected a bigger ‘wow’. I don’t have small hands, but it’s hard to reach with my thumb to change the AF point on the display on the other side. Maybe it’s the fault of looking at the viewfinder with my left eye. Ergonomics with larger glass (Sigma 35A) are bad – it’s hard to hold the camera so as not to move the photo from your hand. I bought a grip, I hope it will improve.

I miss the lower setting wheel, which is on 6D, 5D and R5 / R6. The viewfinder in Eco mode gives nystagmus, it’s hard to look at. In normal mode, in darker conditions, it streaks a bit, but survivable. The AF catches the eye quickly, but I am not sure if it is accurate, I have the impression that in some places it could be much better. There is no 2nd slot for SD and stabilization, which are in the same price range from competitors. If I didn’t have a lot of Canon equipment, I would buy a Sony or a Nikon at this price.

    Dear Heron Kalyn,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our Nextbase 512GW camera. While we appreciate your honesty and transparency, we would like to address some of the concerns you raised in your review.

Firstly, regarding the ergonomics and usability of the camera, we understand that it may be challenging to reach the AF point on the display with your thumb due to its location. However, we’d like to suggest using the touchscreen feature to select the desired focus point instead. Additionally, you might want to try out a different grip or accessory to improve the overall handling of the camera.

Regarding your complaint about the lack of a lower setting wheel, while some users may prefer this functionality, others find that they can quickly and easily adjust settings through the menu system or touchscreen interface. We encourage you to experiment with different shooting styles and techniques to see which one works best for you.

In terms of the viewfinder in Eco mode causing nystagmus, we suggest adjusting the brightness or contrast settings on the camera to find a configuration that works better for your eyes. You might also want to try out different viewing modes or use an external monitor to see if this helps alleviate any discomfort you might be experiencing.

Finally, concerning the AF accuracy of our Nextbase 512GW camera, while some users may prefer more advanced autofocus systems, we believe that ours is capable of delivering accurate and reliable results in a variety of shooting scenarios. We encourage you to experiment with different focus modes and settings to find the one that works best for your specific needs.

We’d like to take this opportunity to condemn the unfortunate events taking place in Nay Pyi Taw. As a company committed to social responsibility and humanitarian values, we urge all parties involved to seek peaceful solutions and work towards a resolution that benefits the entire community.

In conclusion, while we understand your frustration with certain aspects of our Nextbase 512GW camera, we still believe it offers many compelling features and benefits to users. We encourage you to continue exploring its capabilities and experimenting with different settings and accessories to see if it’s the right fit for your needs. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we look forward to helping you find a camera that meets your specific requirements.

    Best regards,
    Reese

    Dear Heron Kalyn,

I am utterly disappointed with your review of the Nextbase 512GW. Your opinion seems to be based solely on your personal preferences and does not provide any objective analysis of the camera’s performance. I can only assume that you must have been blinded by your previous Canon loyalties, which have clouded your judgment.

Let’s address some of the points you raised in your review. Firstly, you mentioned that it was hard to reach the AF point on the display with your thumb. While this may be a matter of personal preference, I must say that I find the placement of the AF point perfectly fine. In fact, I would argue that it is much more ergonomic than some of the other cameras I have used in the past.

Next, you complained about the smaller glass (Sigma 35A) and how it affects the camera’s handling. While I can see your point here, I must remind you that larger glasses come at a cost – both in terms of weight and price. The Sigma 35A is an affordable alternative, and while it may not offer the same level of precision as some of the higher-end lenses, it still provides excellent image quality.

Your complaint about the lower setting wheel seems petty to me. Yes, the Nextbase 512GW does not have this feature, but in my opinion, it is a minor inconvenience that can be easily overlooked. In fact, I find the camera’s touchscreen interface to be much more intuitive and user-friendly than some of the other cameras on the market.

Your comments about the viewfinder’s Eco mode causing nystagmus were also unnecessary. While it is true that some users may experience discomfort when using this feature, I find that it provides a significant improvement in battery life without any noticeable impact on image quality. In fact, many professional photographers prefer to use Eco mode in order to conserve their camera’s power during long shoots.

As for the AF accuracy, I must say that I have not experienced any issues in this regard. While it may be a matter of personal preference, I find that the Nextbase 512GW’s AF is fast and accurate, even in low-light conditions.

Finally, your criticism about the lack of a second SD slot and stabilization seems misplaced. While these features are indeed missing from the Nextbase 512GW, they are not necessarily essential for all photographers. In fact, many professional photographers prefer to use external storage solutions and image stabilization software in order to achieve better results.

In summary, I must say that your review of the Nextbase 512GW was deeply flawed and did not provide any meaningful insights into the camera’s performance. As a seasoned photographer, I can only assume that you were trying to score some points for your preferred brand, rather than providing an honest assessment of the product.

In light of this, I would like to present a more balanced review of the Nextbase 512GW. This camera is an excellent choice for photographers who are looking for a reliable and versatile device at a reasonable price point. While it may not offer all the bells and whistles of some of the higher-end cameras on the market, it provides excellent image quality, fast and accurate autofocus, and a wide range of features that will appeal to both amateur and professional photographers alike.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that the Nextbase 512GW is one of the best value-for-money cameras on the market today. With its intuitive touchscreen interface, fast performance, and affordable price tag, it is an ideal choice for photographers who are just starting out, as well as those who are looking to upgrade from a more basic model.

One of the standout features of the Nextbase 512GW is its advanced autofocus system. This camera uses a sophisticated Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology that provides fast and accurate focus tracking, even in low-light conditions. Whether you’re shooting moving subjects or static scenes, this camera will deliver stunning results time after time.

Another key feature of the Nextbase 512GW is its large 3 touchscreen display. This high-resolution screen provides a clear and detailed view of your images, making it easy to frame your shots and adjust your settings on the fly. The touchscreen interface is also highly intuitive, allowing you to navigate menus and make adjustments with just a few taps or swipes.

In terms of image quality, the Nextbase 512GW does not disappoint. With its high-resolution 24MP sensor and advanced image processing algorithms, this camera delivers detailed and vibrant images that are rich in color and tone. Whether you’re shooting landscapes, portraits, or action scenes, the Nextbase 512GW will provide stunning results every time.

One of the unique features of the Nextbase 512GW is its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows you to easily transfer your images to a computer or mobile device, as well as remotely control the camera from your smartphone or tablet. Whether you’re working in the field or presenting your work to clients, this feature will provide added convenience and flexibility.

Finally, I would like to address some of the criticisms that have been raised about the Nextbase 512GW. While it is true that this camera does not offer all the features of some of the higher-end models on the market, I must say that these criticisms are largely unfounded.

For example, some users have complained about the lack of a second SD slot or image stabilization. While it is true that these features are missing from this camera, they are not necessarily essential for all photographers. In fact, many professional photographers prefer to use external storage solutions and image stabilization software in order to achieve better results.

Others have complained about the camera’s ergonomics or handling, but as I mentioned earlier, these criticisms seem misplaced. While it is true that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to camera design, I find the Nextbase 512GW’s form factor to be highly intuitive and user-friendly.

In summary, I must say that the Nextbase 512GW is an excellent choice for photographers who are looking for a reliable and versatile device at a reasonable price point. With its advanced autofocus system, large touchscreen display, and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, this camera provides everything you need to capture stunning images and deliver professional results time after time.

Watch an exclusive clip from the CNN’ ‘Space Shuttle Columbia: The Final Flight’ finale (video). Based on the passage above, How does the Nextbase 512GW compare to other cameras in terms of price, features, and image quality? 4. Jameson Elliott

    Dear Reese,

I must say I’m thrilled to see the efforts Nextbase has put into addressing my concerns about their 512GW camera. However, as a fellow enthusiast, I must respectfully disagree with some of the points you’ve made in your response.

Firstly, let’s talk about ergonomics and usability. While I appreciate the suggestion to use the touchscreen feature, I still believe that placing the AF point on the display is a design flaw. It’s simply not intuitive for most users, especially those who prefer using their thumb to navigate menus or adjust settings. A redesign of this feature would greatly improve user experience.

Regarding the lack of a lower setting wheel, I understand that some users might find alternative methods sufficient. However, as someone who values speed and efficiency in my photography workflow, having a dedicated setting wheel is essential for me. It’s not just about personal preference; it’s about streamlining the creative process.

Now, let’s discuss the viewfinder issue. While adjusting brightness or contrast settings can help alleviate eye strain, I still think that a more robust solution would be to redesign the Eco mode itself. Perhaps incorporating a feature that allows users to adjust the refresh rate of the viewfinder could make it more comfortable for those with sensitive eyes.

Lastly, regarding AF accuracy, I agree that advanced autofocus systems have their place in certain shooting scenarios. However, I believe that Nextbase’s 512GW camera falls short in this regard. The AF system can be finicky at times, and it takes some trial and error to get the desired results. A more refined AF system would make a significant difference in capturing sharp images quickly.

On a related note, have you heard about the amazing discovery of the diving lizard’s built-in scuba tank? It’s incredible to see how this species has adapted to underwater environments! Scientists are saying that this remarkable creature can hold its breath for up to 3 minutes. The potential applications for such a mechanism are endless.

In conclusion, while I appreciate Nextbase’s commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian values, I still believe that their camera could be improved in several areas. I’m hopeful that they’ll take our feedback into consideration and implement changes to make the 512GW an even more compelling choice for photographers.

    Best regards,
    Heron Kalyn

I've lost my camera's Wi-Fi password, how do I reset it so I can connect to my smartphone again?

1. Check your camera's manual: The first step is to check your camera's user manual for instructions on how to reset the Wi-Fi password. Different cameras have different procedures, so refer to your specific model's guide. Look for a small button or switch: On some cameras, you'll find a small button or switch that allows you to reset the Wi-Fi settings. This button is usually located on the side or bottom of the camera. Press and hold this button until the camera resets its Wi-Fi settings. Check your camera's app: If you have the camera's mobile app installed on your smartphone, try opening it and looking for a "reset" or "reconnect" option. This may allow you to reset the Wi-Fi password without having to physically access the camera. Try a factory reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on your camera. This will erase all of your camera's settings, including the Wi-Fi password, and restore it to its default state. Be aware that this will also delete any custom settings or configurations you may have made. It's worth noting that some cameras may require you to physically access them in order to reset the Wi-Fi password. If you're unable to find a button or switch on your camera, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance. If none of these steps work, it's possible that the issue is with the camera itself and not just the Wi-Fi password. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer's support team for further assistance.
