1 review for Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular

  1. Erick F.

An excellent fragment of the set, I love it, I like the quality of workmanship. This is a large lamp and you will have to put it down after each use, unless you have very good space available. Everything is simply brilliant at this price, you can’t expect or ask for more. I should have brought it ages ago, it would significantly improve light control. I can’t wait for the next round of the model to try it out.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I properly attach and use the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular in my studio photography setup?

Attaching the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular to your studio lighting setup is a straightforward process. Here's how you can do it:

1. Unpack the softbox rectangular from its carrying bag and unfold it. It comes with four poles that attach together to form a sturdy frame for holding the softbox fabric. Insert the four poles into the corresponding slots on the sides of the softbox, making sure each pole is securely locked in place. Attach the softbox to your Profoto OCF (Air) light shaping tool by connecting the included adapter to the softbox's mounting point and attaching it to the appropriate Air cell on your OCF light source. Make sure everything is tightly secured and that the softbox is centered over your subject. Adjust the position of the softbox as needed to create the desired lighting effect, whether you want more or less spread, more or less falloff, or different positions for multiple softboxes in a multi-light setup. Use the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular to soften and diffuse light, reducing harsh shadows and creating a flattering, evenly lit subject. It's especially useful for portrait photography, as it provides a natural, wraparound light that flatters skin tones and contours. Remember always to follow proper safety protocols when working with studio lighting equipment, such as using appropriate electrical outlets and avoiding overloading circuits, and ensure that the softbox is securely attached to prevent accidents during use.

"How do I properly attach and position the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular to achieve soft, even lighting for portrait photography?"

To properly attach and position the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular for achieving soft, even lighting for portrait photography, follow these steps:
1. Begin by assembling the softbox. Unfold the fabric panels and connect them with the provided speed rings and clips. Make sure the softbox is fully extended and the diffuser material is attached to the inside. Attach the softbox to the OCF AirCell (the included mounting bracket) using the supplied Velcro straps. The softbox should be securely fastened to the bracket, with no wobbling or sagging. Next, attach the AirCell to your Profoto B1 or B2 flash head using the provided OCF connector. Ensure that the connector is properly locked into place on both ends. Position the softbox at an appropriate distance from your subject. The general rule of thumb is to have the softbox around 3-5 feet away from your subject, depending on the desired level of lighting intensity and softness. Adjust the height and angle of the softbox to suit your needs. You can position it above or to the side of your subject, depending on whether you want a more dramatic or flattering effect. Use the diffuser material inside the softbox to achieve softer lighting. You can remove this material if you prefer a harder, more directional light source. Finally, test the lighting on your subject and make any necessary adjustments. You may need to move the softbox or flash head around until you find the perfect position for achieving soft, even lighting. By following these steps, you'll be able to successfully attach and position the Profoto OCF Softbox Rectangular for achieving soft, even lighting in your portrait photography sessions.
