Very good camera at a reasonable price. Only the battery could be a little bit stronger.

  2. Jennifer

I recently bought the Sony HDR-CX450 camcorder and I must say that I am impressed with its features. The camcorder allows me to shoot high-quality videos that can be directly stored in H.264 recordable files, ensuring that my video files aren’t too large.

I love the 1.8-4.0 aperture -wide-tele feature that allows me to capture excellent images in any lighting situation. The camera is perfect for outdoor events like weddings, sports, or scenic views where lighting can be unpredictable.

Compared to other known camcorders in the market, the Sony HDR-CX450 is more affordable. In addition, it has a longer battery life compared to other models. What I love about this camcorder is that it fits comfortably in my hand, and it has a wide-angle lens, enabling me to capture more videos.

Overall, I would give the Sony HDR-CX450 four stars out of five. It is an affordable camcorder with great features that are both novice and professional-friendly. It provides a high-quality, stable performance with a wealth of settings that will impress anyone who uses it.

As an insurance adviser living in Portland, I needed a reliable camcorder to record videos for work and personal use. That’s why I bought the Sony HDR-CX450 in May, but unfortunately, I have to give it a disappointing rating of 2 out of 5. Compared to other popular camcorders, I found this one lacking in several ways.

One of the biggest issues I faced was with the MS Micro (M2) Memory Stick. It’s not a commonly used memory card, which made it difficult for me to find replacements or to transfer videos to my computer. Additionally, the Sony HDR-CX450 often had problems with autofocus, especially in low light settings, which resulted in blurred or fuzzy videos.

In comparison to the Sony HDR-CX450, I’ve used the Canon VIXIA HF R800, which I found to be an excellent camcorder. It had better autofocus, was more user-friendly, and used a standard SD card, which made it much more convenient for me.

The delivery of the Sony HDR-CX450 to Portland was smooth and uneventful, but the real story behind my purchase was that I wanted to capture my family’s summer vacation in Hawaii. Unfortunately, the camcorder let me down, and I wasn’t able to capture the stunning scenery as I had hoped.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the Sony HDR-CX450, as there are better options available on the market. While the product name may sound impressive, it simply wasn’t up to par with my expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the best way to connect my Sony HDV HDR-CX450 camcorder to my computer for editing purposes?

To connect your Sony HDV HD R-CX450 camcorder to a computer for editing, you'll need an IEEE 1394 FireWire cable and the appropriate software. Here are the steps:

1. First, make sure your camcorder is powered off.
2. Locate the IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port on both the camcorder and your computer. The port looks like a small, thick rectangle with six or nine pins.
3. Plug one end of the FireWire cable into the corresponding port on your camcorder.
4. Plug the other end of the FireWire cable into an available IEEE 1394 port on your computer. If your computer does not have a built-in FireWire port, you may need to purchase and install a FireWire card or use a USB-to-FireWire adapter.
5. Turn on your camcorder. The computer should recognize the device and install necessary drivers automatically.
6. Install the appropriate software for editing your HDV footage. For Sony cameras, this is usually the Sony PlayMemories Home or Movie Studio Platinum software. Check the Sony website for the latest versions of these programs.
7. Connect to your camcorder using the installed software and start editing!

Remember that editing high-definition video can be resource-intensive, so make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the software you are using. It's also a good idea to save often while editing to avoid losing progress if there's a problem with your computer or power loss.
