  1. Kevin Bates

As someone who needs to record meetings and interviews for my job as a stock clerk, I was excited to upgrade to the Sony ICD-UX560 in March. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.

One of the selling points for this recorder was the Built-in Microphone Microphone, but I found the quality lacking. Even with the 2 Amount of Microphones, the sound was often muffled and difficult to understand. I have used other audio recorders in the past, and this is by far the worst in terms of sound quality.

In comparison to other known Audio recorders, such as the Olympus VN-541PC or the Zoom H4n, the Sony ICD-UX560 falls far behind in terms of quality and ease of use.

Furthermore, the delivery of this Audio recorder to Miami was also frustrating. It arrived over a week after the estimated delivery date, and the packaging was damaged. While I do not blame Sony for the delivery issues, it added to my frustration with the overall experience.

Overall, I would not recommend the Sony ICD-UX560. The poor sound quality and delivery issues make it a hassle to use and not worth the investment.

  2. Daniela Larsen

I recently purchased the Sony ICD-UX560 audio recorder and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. The Li-Ion battery format is amazing and allows me to record for long periods without worrying about the battery life. The built-in microphone is also top-notch, capturing every sound with impressive clarity.

Compared to other audio recorders I have used in the past, the Sony ICD-UX560 blows them out of the water. The sound quality is exceptional and the ease of use is unmatched. I love how lightweight and compact it is, making it easy to carry around with me wherever I go.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the speedy delivery of the product to Denver. It arrived within a few days of ordering, which was a huge relief as I needed it for work right away.

Overall, I highly recommend the Sony ICD-UX560 to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient audio recorder. It has truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

I'm having trouble with my Sony ICD-UX560's battery life. Can you tell me why it's not lasting as long as advertised and what adjustments I can make to get more playback time out of it?

1. Incorrect Settings**: If you're recording in high-quality settings such as HQ or SP, the battery life will be shorter compared to lower quality settings like LP or SLP. Frequent Button Pressing**: Constantly pressing buttons can increase power consumption and shorten the battery's lifespan. Temperature Extremes**: Operating your device in extremely hot or cold temperatures can affect its performance and reduce battery life. Battery Health**: Over time, lithium-ion batteries can degrade due to repeated charge cycles, reducing their capacity. To get more playback time out of your ICD-UX560:

1. Adjust Recording Quality**: Lower the recording quality settings to LP or SLP to conserve power. Reduce Button Pressing**: Minimize pressing buttons unnecessarily by using the device's functions efficiently and turning it off when not in use. Maintain Optimal Temperature**: Avoid exposing your device to extreme temperatures, and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. Update Firmware**: Ensure you have the latest firmware installed on your device. Sony periodically releases updates that may improve battery life or fix issues related to power consumption. Consider Replacement Batteries**: If your device is more than two years old and the original batteries are degraded, consider replacing them with new ones. By following these tips, you can potentially extend the playback time of your ICD-UX560 and get the most out of its battery life.
