1 review for Sony FDR-AX33

  1. Lara Howard

very easy to use, quickly starts by opening the flip, automatically turns off and closes the lens after closing the flip. The 128 GB memory is enough for over 5 hours in HD, I don’t record in 4K at the moment, because I don’t have such a TV. Realistic colors, maybe a bit heavy but record great.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I connect my Sony FDR-AX33 to WiFi for remote control and live streaming using my smartphone?

To use the Sony FDR-AX33 Action Cam Wireless Remote Control and Live View feature, you'll need to connect your camcorder to a wireless network. Here is how you can do it:

1. **Ensure your Smartphone is ready:** Download the "IMX450/IMX377 Live View Remote" application on your smartphone from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. This app is necessary for live streaming and remote control.

2. **Power ON your Sony FDR-AX33:** Switch on your Action Cam by pressing the power button located at the top of the camera. The LED will turn red when it's powered on.

3. **Prepare to connect the WiFi:** Access the menu on your Sony FDR-AX33, you can do this by pressing the 'MENU' button (it looks like a square with 3 lines in it) on the side of the camera. Navigate through the options using the four arrow buttons and select "WiFi Connection".

4. **Find your WiFi network:** Under the WiFi Connection menu, you will see the available wireless networks near you listed. Select yours. If your Wi-Fi is not in the list, you may need to set up a direct connection by selecting "Manual setting" and entering your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.

5. **Connect the camcorder to your smartphone:** Open the "IMX450/IMX377 Live View Remote" application on your phone, and follow the instructions in the app to connect your Sony FDR-AX33 Action Cam with your smartphone. This usually involves entering a specific code displayed on the camera screen into the app.

6. **You are now connected:** Once you have entered the code correctly, your Sony FDR-AX33 should now be connected to your smartphone. You can now use the Live View Remote application to control your Action Cam and live stream directly from the camcorder.

Remember that for remote control and live streaming, both devices (the Sony FDR-AX33 and your smartphone) must have a stable internet connection via WiFi.

What is the best way to transfer videos from my Sony FDR-AX33 camcorder to my computer or smartphone?

To transfer videos from your Sony FDR-AX33 camcorder to your computer or smartphone, you can use a USB cable that comes with the camera. Follow these steps:

1. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on your camcorder and connect the other end to either your computer's USB port or your smartphone's USB charging port (if it supports OTG).

2. Turn on your camcorder and allow it to recognize the connected device. If prompted, select "PC" mode for transferring files to a computer or "MTP" mode for transferring files to a smartphone.

3. On your computer, open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) and locate the drive associated with your Sony FDR-AX33 camcorder under "Removable Disk".

4. Navigate through the folders until you find the video files you want to transfer. Copy these files by right-clicking on them and selecting "Copy" or using Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac).

How do I transfer footage from my Sony FDR-AX33 camcorder to my computer using a USB cable?

Connect the camcorder to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Make sure that the camcorder is turned on and set to USB Mode. If prompted, select "Connect & Charge" or "USB Mass Storage" depending on your computer's operating system. Wait for your computer to recognize the camcorder as an external storage device. This may take a few seconds. Open the file management software of your choice (e. Windows Explorer, Finder). Locate the drive that corresponds to your connected camcorder. Select the footage you want to transfer by holding down the Shift key and clicking on multiple files or by pressing Ctrl + A (Windows) or Command + A (Mac) to select all files in the folder. Drag and drop the selected files into a desired location on your computer, such as a folder or external hard drive. Once the transfer is complete, safely eject the camcorder from your computer by right-clicking on the device's drive letter (Windows) or dragging it to the trash can (Mac) and selecting "Eject. This will ensure that the footage is properly unmounted from the camcorder and prevent any data corruption. Disconnect the USB cable from both your computer and the camcorder, and switch the camera off before storing it.
