Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the maximum recording time for a single video using the DJI Osmo Mobile?
The DJI OSMO Mobile has a maximum recording time of approximately 45 minutes per single video. This duration can vary slightly depending on your device's battery life, as well as the settings you choose during filming. To get the longest possible recording time, it is recommended to use lower-resolution video modes and turn off image stabilization when not necessary. Always make sure that your smartphone has enough power for the entire recording process.
What are the different shooting modes available on DJI Osmo, and how do I switch between them?
The different shooting modes available on DJI Osmo include:
1. Panorama: Allows you to capture panoramic images by sweeping your camera across a scene horizontally or vertically. Time-Lapse: Records frames at set intervals and combines them into a single video, creating the illusion of faster time. Motionlapse: Combines motion and time-lapse to create a dynamic video effect where the camera moves while capturing images over time. Sport: Designed for fast-moving subjects like sports or wildlife, it increases the frame rate to provide smoother footage. Waypoint: Allows you to pre-program a flight path for your Osmo to follow, capturing scenic aerial shots. Course Lock: Keeps the camera pointed in one direction while you move the gimbal manually. To switch between shooting modes on DJI Osmo, follow these steps:
1. Power on your Osmo and make sure it's in Aircraft Mode (the default mode). Press the "Mode" button located at the top left corner of the handle until you hear a beep, indicating that you've entered into the shooting mode selection menu. Use the "Trigger" or "Shutter" button to select your desired shooting mode. You'll know which mode is selected when the corresponding icon appears on the screen. To exit the shooting mode selection menu and return to Aircraft Mode, press the "Mode" button again until you hear another beep.
"How do I properly balance the camera on the Osmo for smooth footage?"
First, ensure that your Osmo is securely attached to its accessory handle. This will provide you with a stable base and make it easier to balance the camera. Next, mount your camera onto the Osmo's gimbal. Make sure that it is properly secured by tightening the screws or latches. Turn on your camera and place it into manual mode. This will allow you to adjust settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO manually. Use the joystick on the Osmo's handle to move the camera around until you find a level position. You can also use the built-in leveling tool in your camera's viewfinder or LCD screen to ensure that it is perfectly horizontal. Adjust the focus and exposure settings to get the shot you want. Make sure that everything is in focus and properly exposed before moving on to the next step. Now, start walking or moving the Osmo around while keeping the camera level and steady. This will create smooth, stabilized footage. If necessary, use the Osmo's joystick or buttons to make small adjustments to the camera's position as you move. This will help prevent any unwanted jolts or jerks in your footage. Remember to always prioritize safety and stability over getting the perfect shot. Avoid moving too quickly, especially on uneven terrain, and be sure to keep the Osmo level at all times. Finally, once you've completed your shoot, make sure to properly store and transport your camera and accessories to prevent any damage or mishaps during transport.
"How do I properly balance the camera on the Osmo for smooth footage?"
To properly balance your camera on the DJI Osmo, follow these steps:
1. Attach the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera, making sure it is securely fastened. Mount the quick release plate onto the Osmo's camera holder. Tighten the thumbscrew until the camera is secure. Adjust the position of the camera on the holder by rotating it left or right until you achieve a level horizon. Use the joystick to make fine adjustments, if necessary. Check that the camera lens is centered and parallel to the ground. This will ensure that your footage is smooth and stable. Use the Osmo's joystick to test the camera's movement and make any necessary adjustments to the balance. Make sure all of the camera's functions, such as focus and exposure, are set correctly. Before starting your shoot, perform a calibration to ensure that the Osmo's movements are smooth and accurate. As someone who has used the DJI Osmo, I have to say that I am not very impressed. While the 3.5 mm Focal Length -Wide-Tele feature is nice, it doesn’t make up for the shortcomings of this camera. I found that the Line-In Connections often resulted in poor sound quality, which was a big disappointment.
Compared to other known camcorders on the market, the DJI Osmo falls short. It just doesn’t have the same level of performance or reliability as some of the other cameras I’ve used in the past.
Overall, I would give the DJI Osmo a rating of 2 stars out of 5. While it has some good features, it’s just not enough to make up for the issues I’ve experienced with this camera. If you’re looking for a reliable and high-quality camcorder, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I recently purchased the DJI Osmo and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. As a lawyer living in North Las Vegas, I needed a reliable camera to capture the evidence for my cases. The DJI Osmo has definitely fit the bill.
One of the standout features of this camera is the still pictures. They come out clear and crisp with true to life colors. This is a huge advantage over other camcorders in its class which tend to focus solely on video quality.
Furthermore, the 64 GB max supported memory size allows me to record for long periods of time without having to worry about running out of space. This is a huge bonus for me as I tend to spend long hours in the field.
In comparison to other known camcorders, the DJI Osmo sets itself apart with its ability to shoot steady footage even in adverse conditions. It also has a sleek and modern design that is both professional and stylish.
Lastly, I must mention the prompt delivery of this camcorder to North Las Vegas. I was incredibly happy with the speedy delivery and it arrived in perfect condition. I made the purchase back in February and have been using it ever since.
Overall, I give the DJI Osmo a 5 out of 5 rating for its exceptional features, reliable performance, and top-notch still pictures. It has definitely made my job easier and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality camcorder.
