1 review for Sony HDR-AS50

  1. Joey Hughes

Earlier I had a HDR-AS20 cam I switched to HDR-AS50. Unfortunately, despite the higher price, apart from the housing and the connector for the accessory system, nothing was included. In my opinion, switching on recording is worse solved than in the predecessor, which was done with one button. Now you need to turn on the camera and then negating. Having a camera on a helmet is much worse. Malfunctioning optical stabilization mode in SM mode. Now about the advantages: * better and more readable menu * zoom (3x probably digital because the quality clearly drops above 2x), * 100 fps mode * tripod holder in the camera, * the camera can be put without a housing – better designed housing, * exposure correction, * better designed underwater housing * better solved battery cover with information about the WiFi code. In general, for $ 50 more we get much more functional equipment compared to HDR-AS20. The quality of the films is comparable (does not apply to slow motion modes where the old AS20 model has a clear advantage.
